Experimental activities exhibition for students of the final two grades of Primary School.

June 2010

The activities were designed, organised and realised student teachers of the
School of Primary Education of the University of Western Macedonia, in the
context of the course entitled: “Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Science
Education”.

The exhibition lasted one week. The exhibition was structured thematically
in sections: electricity/electromagnetism, mechanics, energy, light.

Each exhibit was accompanies by a poster, including useful information such
as: the required materials and their construction cost of their construction, the
phenomenon relevant to the exhibit, the relevant sections in the school book,
notes concerning difficulties in its construction, for example, preparation time.

The exhibition was attended by 5th and 6th grade Primary School pupils from
Florina. For the duration of the exhibition, the student teachers came into contact with these pupils, "playing"/interacting with them and trying to register their interest, questions and remarks.

The aim of this exhibition was for the student teachers to be engaged in as well as evaluate a type of non formal education.
