  • Thesis title: “A Costructivist approach for educating primary student teachers in Science”.

Professional Experience

  • 1996-1997: The Technical Museum of Thessaloniki, guide of school groups in the exhibition area of the museum.
  • 1997-2005: American College of Thessaloniki “Anatolia”, Secondary Science Teacher.
  • 2003-2005: In-service educator “Academic and Professional Improvement of Elementary Teachers”, Aristotles University of Thessaloniki, Funded by the European Union & Greek Government.
  • 2005: Lecturer, “Physics Education”, Department of Primary Education, University of Western Macedonia.
  • 2009-2014: Assistant Professor, “Physics Education”, Department of Primary Education, University of Western Macedonia.
  • 2014-Present: Associate Professor, "Physics Education", Department of Primary Education, University of Western Macedonia.

Research Areas – Interests

Research and scientific work cover three areas:
(a) Pre-service and In-service teacher education in Science
(b) Design, development, implementation and evaluation of innovative Teaching-Learning Sequences for pupils and teachers.
(c) Aspects of Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Science – Teacher’s reflection in Science Education.
(d) Development of science educational animations.
