Nektaria Palaiologou studied at the Pedagogical Department of the University of Athens (Bachelor, Master), where she acquired her Doctoral Degree. She was a post-doctoral researcher and fellow at Institute of Education of the University of London where she accomplished a post-doctoral degree. Since 2006 she teaches Intercultural Education (IE) courses at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the School of Education at the University of Western Macedonia (UoWM), and from 2001 until today she has taught IE courses at six Greek and at two European Universities. She is elected Board Member of the International Association for Intercultural Education (IAIE), Associate Editor at the Intercultural Education Journal Taylor and Francis, Routledge and reviewer on frequent basis at seven international journals. She has edited two IE books in English and written two IE books in Greek (as co-writer). Moreover, she has edited two special issues at international journals, and she has translated and edited two books from English language in Greek. Her articles have been published at international and national journals, many international references have been made to her work. She was the scientific supervisor at research projects (international and national) which have been implemented by UoWM. She cooperates as member of the scientific committee at international working groups which focus on Intercultural/Multicultural Education, Immigrant Students' Education, Citizenship Education, Educational Programmes and ICTs for Immigrant Students and Multicultural Classes, as well as member of the international scientific committee at the organization of international conferences and seminars.
