Curriculum Vitae

Sofoklis S. Makridis is a Lecturer on Technology of Metallic Materials for Energy Applications at the University of Western Macedonia since February 2011.

He is a physicist while he received the M.Sc. in 2002 and the Ph.D. in 2004 in fields of Materials Science and Engineering (Magnetic Materials). His Postdoc research has been accomplished on Materials for Hydrogen Storage. Since 2004, he gives lectrures ten hours per week in the department by covering physics, materials for hydrogen technologies and energy courses. He is currently an Associate Editor in Central European Journal of Physics and a Member of the IEEE Magnetics Society. He is a collaborative person in the MEANDER Group and in the Environmental Technology Laboratory.

His research interests include Magnetic Materials, Metal Hydrides, Batteries, Magnetocalorics, computer assisted analysis/simulations of the structural characteristics, perovskites/electrolytes for solid oxide fuel cells, simulated microstructures.

He is in the Management Committee of the Cost Action on Hybrid Energy Storage Devices and Systems for Mobile and Stationary Applications
