Dimitris Pnevmatikos is an Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology.
He has been an active member of EARLI since 1994 and he is currently member of the Executive Committee of the Earli and EARLI SIG Moral and Democratic Education coordinator. Since 2005, Dimitris Pnevmatikos has also served as coordinator of the branch Developmental Psychology of the Hellenic Psychological Association.

His research interests focus on the way hot cognition (emotional, motivational, moral, spiritual, and epistemological aspects) have an impact onto children’s and adolescents’ cognitive and social development and to their academic achievement.  

Specific topics of interest: Children’s’ Metaphysical Ideas; Children and family/peers relationships; Class Management; Conceptual Change (abstract concepts: density, God, justice, number, etc); Elementary Education; Emotions and Class Climate; Executive Functions; Experimental Education; Moral and Democratic Education; Motivation in Education; Participatory Design in Education; Refutational texts for conceptual change; Theory of Mind.
